I picked this blog post to be my best blog post because I related my book Paper Towns to the song "better than revenge"by Taylor swift. This was a good thing that I did because it is showing how I could relate what I was reading to real life experiences and things that are going on in the real world. Also in this blog post I showed how I could provide textual evidence to support what I was saying. In the post I was talking about how Margo wanted to get revenge on her boyfriend because he cheated on her and then I related it to the song "better that revenge" and then I provided 2 lines from the song that showed that the book and the song relate to each other. In the post it says"A good quote from this song by Taylor swift would be 'She should keep in mind There is nothing I do better than revenge'"(third paragraph). Then after I provided the quote I went on to explain how the line from the text shows how Margo wants to get revenge and she wants it to be very good so she even gets help from Quentin to make the sabotage better. The next line that I provided was "Another quote would be 'She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum'"(paragraph three). Also after I provided this quote I went on to explain how Margo is feeling a lot of pain from what her boyfriend did to her and this song can relate and explain the pain that she is feeling. This was my best blog post because I related my book to real world experiences and provided evidence to prove it to be correct.
The goals that I have for myself regarding future reading is I would like to read more books. In one semester I only read 3 books which was the requirement. I want to go above and try to read more than I should. My goal for next year would be to read 5 books in one semester. I would also like to try to challenge my self more with the books that I am reading. I like to read books at my reading level, but I going to try to read more books that are harder. Also I didn't write much this year and i am going to try to write more and try to fix the mistakes that I make in my writing. I want to focus on the harder thing in writing that I normally forget.

Blog post #3
Quentin finds out that Margo has a boyfriend! This does not make Quentin happy, but he also finds out that Margo's boyfriend cheated on her with Margo's best friend so the reason that they are going on this road trip is because Margo wants to get revenge on her boyfriend and Margo's best friend. Quentin ends up helping Margo with her revenge plan by embarrassing her boyfriend and her best friend and it works very well. But then in the end Margo still isn't happy that Quentin helped her with this plan.
A song that reminds me of this book so far is Better than revenge by Taylor swift. This song is about a girl finding out that her boyfriend cheated on them and all she wants to do is get revenge. This song is perfect for what is going on in this story right now because Margo is going through this hard stage of finding out about her boyfriend and all she can think about is revenge and to get this revenge on him she drags Quentin in to all of it.
A good quote from this song by Taylor swift would be "She should keep in mind There is nothing I do better than revenge" This is showing how Taylor is warning her boyfriend that she is very good at getting revenge and she will get revenge on him. This relates to my book because Margo wants to get revenge on her boyfriend and she is getting as much help as she can to make it a really good sabotage on him. Another quote would be "She had to know the pain was beating on me like a drum" This is showing how the pain that Margo got from her boyfriend cheating on her. It hurts a lot for Margo to go through that and this song perfectly relates to Margo's pain that she is feeling on the inside in her heart.

Blog post #2:
The book that I am still reading is paper towns. I read chapter 1 and 2 of this book so far and a lot has happened! In the prologue you find out that Quentin and Margo used to be friends when they were nine. And when they were younger they saw something life changing, a dead body. Quentin got scared and backed away but Margo was interested and she got closer to the body. Eventually their parents found them and took them both home and called 911. Later that night Margo went to visit Quentin at his window. Margo told him that she did and investigation about the dead man and she found out who he was and that he killed himself because he was getting a divorce. Then she left through the window. That was the last time that Margo and Qeuntin talked for a long time. Ever since then Qeuntin has had a crush on Margo. Then in the next couple of chapters Margo comes back to Qeuntin's window just like old times and asks to borrow his car, of course Quentin says yes and he follows her in the car.
I think that this book has been very interesting so far and it has definatly kept me hooked to read the rest of the book! I think that even though a lot has happened already, there is still a lot more room for more stuff to happen. I think that the reason that Margo and Quentin is going on this trip is because of the dead body that they saw when they were nine years old. John Green wouldn't just have a big event in thier lives happen like that and not have it come up later on in the story. This dead man has to contribute to Margo's life somehow because she seem really interested in home as a child.

Blog post #1:
The book that I am going to read is paper towns by John Green. I am starting this book because this week for class we get to decide whatever book we want to read and whatever genre we would like, so a lot of my friends have read this book and they said that it was really good.
John green is really popular right now because of his most recent book The Fault in Our Stars. I loved this book so much just like the other half of the world! I thought that is was just such a heartwarming story that inspired me so much. It always kept me on my toes waiting for what was going to happen next and those are the types of books that I love. John Green has written 30 books and most of them have been best sellers. I love the writing style of his books and I am very excited to read this book.
This book is about a boy named Quentin Jacobsen and he has had a life long crush on this girl named Margo Roth Spiegelman, but from a distance. Q hasn't ever really gone up to talk to her in a very long time so he admires her from afar. Margo then crawls back into his life by getting Q to join her on a adventure for revenge. On this trip Q finds out that Margo isn't the girl that he though he knew. Maybe she is different then ha expected her to be.

Satire Post
This picture is showing satire. I know that is showing satire because it is having stereotype as its element of satire. It is showing how the guy up at the podium is saying that 1+1=5 and everyone believes him because of the way that he looks or the way that he dresses, but really we know that this is not true. The other guy is saying that 1+1 doesn't equal 5 it actually equals 2, but no one believes him because of the way that he looks or the way that he dresses. This is stereotyping people by the appearance of others. We judge others and make decisions about people based on the way that they look or sometimes act and this satire is showing how what we are doing is wrong.

The column T.Y. Hilton is good player, great dad written by Krista Ramsey is about how T.Y. Hilton played a game for his newly born baby girl and stayed up the night before this big game to take care of her. This is showing all the other football players how good it is to be a great husband and father.
The line that I chose to be best written is "You don't have to be a Colts fan. You don't have to be a football fan. You just have to be a fan of good dads and good men."(Krista Ramsey). The impact that this line has on the reader is very strong. It is telling everyone that you don't have to be a fan of a sports team or sports in general, what is the best thing that everyone should be a fan of is of good people who do good things. A lot of the football players now a days think that they don't have to treat their spouses with respect and they abuse them. But T.Y. Hilton is a good role model for this because he is a great dad and he is a great husband also. And that is what people should be fans of about him, not just that he is also a really good football player, but for his good morals. The diction in this line isn't very much shown. There isn't any big confusing words that I don't know what it means, that line is straight to the point and I think that is how it was supposed to be interpreted. For the syntax there is a repetition of the word fan, which is showing emphasis on that word to get it stuck in your head and not forget what she is trying to say. Also the sentences are short cut off sentences that are easy to read.
The writing style of Krista Ramsey is very relatable . Ramsey writes about stories that people in the world are going through and it make the stories more personal and make people want to read them. An example of this is from her column For better vision, kids need time outdoors, "But before the parents claw back the iPhone's, experts say the problem may not lie in the technology itself, but the amount of time spent on it, the environment in which it's used and the activities it's replacing."(Krista Ramsey). With all of the new technology that has been coming out more and more parents are starting to worry about their kids spending to much time on them. Since this topic is so relatable it makes more parents wan to read it for the safety of their kids. Another style of Ramsey is that she has good diction. In the column Super Bowl QBs score points for great style it says " And life itself regains the punctuation that says every days isn't the same as every other..."(Krista Ramsey). The diction in this column is used by the "punctuation" which in this case has two different meanings. It can mean a mark (like commas, periods, exclamation points, question marks, ect.), or it can mean a sudden speciation. Diction like this that has two differnt meanings makes the reader stop to think about the reading in more depth. Another style that I noticed was the syntax. Syntax is like repetition of words or how long sentences are. An example of this in the column T.Y. Hilton is good player, great dad says "You don't have to be a Colts fan. You don't have to be a football fan. You just have to be a fan of good dads and good men."(Krista Ramsey). The syntax in this line is that the sentences are really short. With short sentences it makes you think about the importance of them a lot because there isn't much words that you have to evaluate, so you look at all the words that you have and think about them more. Short sentences hit you harder. Also the repetition of the words "fan" made you think about what the word fan means to you and to others and how it should really mean to you. Over all, all of Krista Ramsey writing styles makes you think about the importance of what she is writing more in depth.
Questions:
1. What motivated you the most to get you to write your column?
2. How do you get ideas for your next column?
3. What is the main point that you rae trying to get across throughout all of your columns?
